SUNGBOON EDITOR Active Marine Astaxanthin Toning Serum Mask 23ml x 10 — Korean Brightening Antioxidant Sheet Mask
The Astaxanthin Toning Serum Mask is the sheet-mask treatment of SUNGBOON EDITOR’s Astaxanthin line — a box of 10 masks, each soaked in a brightening, antioxidant serum built around astaxanthin. It delivers the line’s tone-up and glow angle in a relaxing 15-minute step, pairing the marine antioxidant with a PHA, tranexamic acid and glutathione for radiance and smooth texture.
The essence combines antioxidants (astaxanthin, vitamin E, safflower and sea buckthorn oils), brighteners (tranexamic acid, niacinamide, thuja) and a gentle PHA (gluconolactone), buffered with soothing panthenol, allantoin and bisabolol.
What the Toning Serum Mask Does
- Brightens and evens tone. Tranexamic acid, niacinamide and thuja target dullness and uneven tone for a tone-up glow.
- Delivers antioxidants. Astaxanthin, vitamin E and antioxidant plant oils defend against the free-radical damage behind tired skin.
- Smooths texture. A gentle PHA (gluconolactone) refines the surface without stinging.
- Hydrates and soothes. The AQUAXYL moisture complex plus panthenol, allantoin and bisabolol keep skin plump and calm.
Who the Toning Serum Mask Is For
- Skin that looks dull, tired or uneven and wants a brightening boost
- Anyone after a glow before an event or a relaxing weekly treatment
- Those building the Astaxanthin routine who want the matching sheet mask
- Skin that wants gentle PHA smoothing in a low-effort format

Key Ingredients in the Toning Serum Mask
- Astaxanthin + Haematococcus Oil — the marine antioxidant, for glow and protection.
- Tranexamic Acid + Niacinamide + Thuja — the brightening, tone-evening trio. More in our niacinamide guide.
- Glutathione + Vitamin E — antioxidant and radiance support.
- Gluconolactone (PHA) — gentle, non-stinging exfoliation for smoother texture.
- AQUAXYL + Sea Buckthorn & Safflower Oils — hydration and nourishment.
- Panthenol, Allantoin & Bisabolol — soothing and calming.
Texture and Finish
A serum-soaked sheet that clings closely and leaves skin brightened, smooth and dewy after 15–20 minutes. There is a light scent from the anise, and the essence contains some alcohol for a fresh finish.
Why You’ll Love It
- A brightening boost in one step. Astaxanthin, tranexamic acid and niacinamide together.
- Gentle smoothing. A PHA refines texture without irritation.
- Antioxidant glow. Marine astaxanthin plus vitamin E and plant oils.
- Great before an event for an instant tone-up.
- Honest about brightening. It gives an immediate glow, with tone-evening building over regular use — alongside SPF.
How to Use the Toning Serum Mask
- After cleansing and toner, unfold the mask and lay it evenly over the face.
- Leave on for 15–20 minutes — no longer, or it starts to dry out.
- Remove and gently pat the remaining essence into the skin.
- Follow with moisturizer to seal it in. Use 1–3 times a week, or before an event.
- Because it contains a PHA, wear sunscreen the next morning.
How to Add It to Your Routine
Use it as a weekly-to-few-times-weekly treatment in place of your serum step: cleanse → tone → mask → moisturizer. It fits alongside the daily Astaxanthin Serum and Capsule Cream.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I use it?
One to three times a week works well, and it is also great as a one-off before an event for an instant tone-up glow. Because it contains a gentle PHA, there is no need to over-use it — a couple of times a week keeps skin bright and smooth. Leave it on 15 to 20 minutes, and follow with moisturizer.
It contains alcohol — is that a problem?
The essence does contain alcohol fairly high on the list, plus a little anise for scent, so approach with some caution if your skin is reactive. For most skin, used once or twice a week, it is fine, and the mask is buffered with soothing panthenol, allantoin and bisabolol. But if you know you react to alcohol or fragrance in skincare, patch test on the jaw first, or choose a fragrance-free option instead.
Do I need to use the serum too, or is the mask enough?
The mask is a lovely occasional boost, but for steady, visible tone-evening the daily Astaxanthin Serum does more, since it works on the skin every day rather than a couple of times a week. Think of the mask as the treat and the serum as the workhorse. Using both — serum daily, mask now and then — gives the fullest effect, but if you only want one for real results, choose the serum.
Is the astaxanthin really better than vitamin C?
Astaxanthin is a genuinely powerful antioxidant, and marketing sometimes quotes big multiples over vitamin C. Take those exact numbers loosely — they come from lab antioxidant tests, not head-to-head skin studies. What is fair to say is that astaxanthin is one of the stronger antioxidants available and pairs well with the vitamin E, tranexamic acid and niacinamide here. It complements a vitamin C routine rather than simply replacing it.
Do I rinse after, and do I still need moisturizer?
No rinsing — remove the sheet and pat the leftover essence into the skin. And yes, follow with moisturizer to seal everything in, otherwise the water in the essence can evaporate and leave skin no better hydrated. Since the essence has a PHA, sunscreen the next morning is important too.
