Four acids, two calming plants. KUNDAL's Mugwort Soothing Balancing Toner pairs a gentle AHA, BHA, PHA and LHA blend with mugwort and centella extract — resurfacing and soothing in the same step, which is unusual and genuinely useful for congested but sensitive skin.
Why four acids
Each acid works at a different depth and speed. AHA works on the surface, BHA gets into pores, PHA is the gentlest and most hydrating, and LHA is slow-releasing. Blended at low individual concentrations, they exfoliate more evenly than one acid at high strength.
Mugwort and centella
Both calm irritation and help balance oil and moisture, offsetting the dryness acids can cause. That is the balancing part of the name.
Softening rather than stripping
The formula is built to care for unnecessary dead skin cells while softening and moisturising at the same time. That dual action is what separates a balancing toner from a straight exfoliating one — you are not trading smoothness for a compromised barrier.
Who it's for
Rough texture, clogged pores and dullness on skin that reacts to stronger exfoliants. See more in AHA, BHA & PHA Exfoliants.
How to use
After cleansing, apply to a cotton pad or your palms and sweep or press over the face. Start two or three nights a week and build up as tolerated. Follow with serum and moisturizer. Sunscreen is non-negotiable when using acids.
Building tolerance safely
Start twice a week for the first fortnight, then three times if skin stays comfortable. Do not increase frequency and add another active in the same week — change one variable at a time. Signs you have gone too far: persistent stinging, tightness that does not resolve with moisturizer, or new sensitivity to products you previously tolerated. If that happens, stop entirely for a week.
FAQ
Can I use it every day?
Some skin tolerates daily use, but start with two or three times a week and watch for tightness.
Can I use it with retinal?
Not the same night. Alternate them.
Morning or evening?
Evening. Acids and daylight are a poor combination unless your sunscreen habit is flawless.
Will it sting?
A brief tingle is normal. Persistent stinging means it is too strong for your skin right now.
