mixsoon Bean Collagen Hydrogel Mask — a Korean hydrogel mask, 5 per box

Five masks per box, each carrying 35g of gel that is essentially essence held in a solid shape. It goes on in two pieces, upper and lower, and it does not slide off your face while you wait — which is the entire reason hydrogel exists as a format.

It turns clear. That is the timer.

This is not a twenty-minute sheet mask, and it is the thing to know before you buy. The gel starts opaque and goes transparent as the essence leaves it — usually somewhere between one and three hours, depending on your skin and how dry the room is.

When it is clear, it is done. No clock, no guessing: the mask tells you. Practically, that makes this an evening-at-home product, not a fifteen-minutes-before-leaving one. For that, the Bean Toner Pad laid on dry patches for five minutes does the job.

What does collagen do in a mask?

Collagen is an excellent humectant — it holds water at the surface, and skin that is holding water looks plumper and reads smoother. Over one to three hours under a sealed hydrogel, that is a lot of held water and a very good finish afterwards.

Which is what this mask is for: intense surface hydration and the finish that follows. Our guide to collagen in Korean skincare lays out the whole picture, and the shelf is here.

What else is in the gel

The same four ferments the Bean line runs on — soybean, pomegranate, barley and pear. Fermented pomegranate is a natural source of AHA, the mild texture-smoothing end of it. The same idea as the Bean Essence, in a format that stays put for two hours instead of absorbing in thirty seconds.

How to get your money's worth out of five

Five masks is five occasions — use them where they pay: the night before something, or on a face that has had a hard week.

Two practical things. The essence left in the pouch is not waste — pat it into your neck and hands. And follow the mask with a moisturiser: two hours of hydration with nothing sealing it in evaporates the same way anything else does. That is what the Bean Cream is for.

Frequently asked questions

How long do I leave a hydrogel mask on?
Until it turns clear — usually one to three hours. The gel starts opaque and goes transparent as the essence leaves it.

Why hydrogel instead of a sheet mask?
It does not slide off. It holds far more essence, and it stays put for hours rather than twenty minutes.

Does it come in one piece?
Two — upper and lower, so it fits the face properly.

Do I need a cream afterwards?
Yes. Hours of hydration with nothing sealing it in evaporates like anything else.

Where can I buy authentic mixsoon masks in the USA?
At K-Touch. Authentic, sourced from verified distributors, carefully stored and securely packaged, with secure checkout and order tracking.

How to Use
1. Cleanse and tone first. The mask goes onto clean, slightly damp skin.
2. Open the pouch, peel the film off the lower piece and lay it around the mouth and jaw.
3. Peel the film off the upper piece and lay it around the eyes.
4. Leave it until the gel turns transparent — usually one to three hours, depending on your skin and the room. Transparent means finished.
5. Remove and press in whatever essence is left. Follow with a cream, or the hydration you just added evaporates.
6. Use the leftover pieces in the pouch as patches for the eye and lip area.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do I leave the hydrogel mask on?

Until it turns transparent, which usually takes one to three hours. The gel is opaque when you put it on and goes clear as the essence transfers and the water evaporates, so the mask times itself — you do not need a clock. How long it takes depends on your skin and how dry the room is. Once it is clear there is nothing left in it, and leaving it on longer does nothing.

Does collagen in a mask rebuild my skin’s collagen?

No, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. Collagen is a large protein and it stays on the surface of the skin. What it does there is hold water, and it does that well — skin holding water looks plumper and reads smoother straight after. That effect is real and it is temporary. Your own collagen is made in the dermis, and a mask does not reach it. Buy this for the hydration and the finish, not for a rebuild.

How is a hydrogel mask different from a sheet mask?

A sheet mask is fabric soaked in essence: it dries out in twenty minutes and then starts taking moisture back off your face, which is why you are told to remove it on time. A hydrogel is the essence itself, set into a gel. It grips without adhesive, it does not slip when you move, and it releases slowly over a couple of hours instead of all at once. The trade-off is the wait — this is an evening-at-home mask, not a fifteen-minutes-before-leaving one.

Can I sleep in it?

There is no point. The mask is finished once it goes clear, which happens well before morning, and after that you are sleeping in a piece of spent gel that will slide off onto your pillow. Put it on in the evening, take it off when it turns transparent, then apply your cream and go to bed.

How often should I use one? There are only five in the box.

Five masks is five occasions, not a routine, and it helps to think of it that way. Use them where they earn it — the night before something, or on a face that has had a hard week. Nothing here needs to be built up over time, so there is no schedule to keep. A box used with intent over two months is worth more than a box used carelessly in one.

What do I do with the essence left in the pouch?

Do not throw it out with the packet. Pat it into your neck, the backs of your hands, anywhere that gets ignored. The offcut pieces of gel in the pouch work as patches around the eyes and lips too. And after the mask comes off, put a moisturiser on — two hours of hydration with nothing sealing it in evaporates like anything else.
