BRINGGREEN Tea Tree Cica Deep Cleansing Oil — The Tea Tree First Cleanse

Cleansing oil is the most crowded shelf in Korean skincare, so the only question worth answering is why this one. The answer is on the front of the bottle: tea tree. Most oil cleansers are built around a neutral carrier — jojoba, moringa, rice. This one is built around the ingredient BRINGGREEN made its name on.

200ml, and it does what a first cleanse should: dissolves sunscreen, long-wear makeup and the day's sebum, then emulsifies with water and leaves.

About BRING GREEN

Worth knowing, because most people do not: BRING GREEN is Olive Young's own brand, launched in 2018. Olive Young is Korea's largest health and beauty retailer, and rather than only stocking other people's tea tree products, they built their own line for oily and blemish-prone skin. It is vegan, and it is aimed squarely at sensitive, reactive, breakout-prone skin. The full story is in our BRING GREEN brand guide.

Who It's For

Oily and combination skin, visible pores, and anyone whose sunscreen refuses to come off with a face wash alone. If you wear SPF daily — and you should — a first cleanse stops being optional.

Tea tree oil is potent, and a small number of people react to it. If you are one of them, you will know already.

Follow it with a water-based cleanser. The rest of the line lives in the BRING GREEN collection — the Tea Tree Cica SOS Spot Patch for individual blemishes and the Tea Tree Cica Pore Nose Pack for blackheads.

If your routine is not delivering, why your Korean skincare routine isn't working covers the usual suspects — and how to treat acne without destroying your skin barrier is the one to read if you are cleansing too hard.

How to Use It

  1. Start with dry hands and a dry face. Water first and the oil cannot grip the makeup.
  2. Massage over the face for about a minute, working on the nose and chin.
  3. Add lukewarm water and keep massaging until it turns milky.
  4. Rinse, then follow with a water-based cleanser.

Then toner while damp, and sunscreen every morning — see the 2026 SPF guide.

Questions

Do I still need a second cleanser?
Yes. That is the point of double cleansing: oil takes off oil-based things, the water-based cleanser takes off what is left. Skip the second step and you can be left with residue.

Will an oil cleanser break me out?
It is a rinse-off product, so it has little time to clog anything. The more common cause of breakouts is sunscreen and makeup left on overnight because a face wash alone did not shift them.

Can sensitive skin use tea tree?
BRING GREEN builds the line for sensitive skin, but tea tree oil is a potent botanical and a minority of people react to it. Patch test if you have not used it before.

Why does it turn white in water?
That is emulsification. It means it is rinsing cleanly rather than leaving a film.
