BRTC Mild Pink Tone-Up Sun Cream SPF50+ PA++++ — Tone-Up Without the Mask

Tone-up sunscreen has a reputation, and it is mostly deserved. Too many of them work by putting a pale film over your face: fine in the bathroom mirror, ghostly in daylight, and obviously a layer rather than skin. That is not tone-up, that is a mask.

The BRTC Mild Pink Tone-Up Sun Cream takes the other approach — it only covers imperfections, at SPF 50+ / PA++++, the top of both scales.

What Pink Does

The tint is pink for a reason. Skin that is tired or dull reads sallow and slightly grey, and a pink cast counteracts that — the effect is a face that looks rested rather than covered. It is colour correction, not coverage.

Who It's For

Anyone who wants full protection plus a brighter finish in one step, particularly on days you would otherwise reach for base makeup. It is the shortcut for a no-makeup morning.

If you want protection with no tint at all, the BRTC Active Max Shield Sun Cream is the hybrid-filter option from the same brand — see the BRTC collection. Compare the rest in Korean Sunscreen and read our 2026 SPF guide. Also relevant: Brightening & Even Skin Tone, Sun Damage & Pigmentation and Korean Makeup.

How to Use It

  1. Apply as the last step of your morning skincare, after moisturizer.
  2. Use about two finger-lengths for face and neck. Under-applying is the most common reason SPF underdelivers, and with a tone-up formula it also means uneven colour.
  3. Blend out along the jaw and hairline.
  4. Wear it alone, or as a base under light makeup.
  5. Reapply every two hours outdoors.

Questions

Will it make me look pale or ghostly?
It is built to cover imperfections rather than blanket the face. The pink tint corrects a sallow cast instead of painting over it.

Why pink rather than white?
Because dull skin skews yellow-grey, and pink counteracts that. White just lightens everything, which is where the ghost effect comes from.

Can I wear makeup over it?
Yes. Many people find they need less once it is on.

Is SPF 50+ PA++++ the maximum?
Effectively. SPF 50+ covers UVB and PA++++ is the highest UVA rating, so both are at the top of their scales.
